Hi, guys, another wonderful day and I’d like to show you how to use OBDSTAR MS80 Motorbike diagnostic scanner to test one 2018 BMW S1000R. I like MS80 very much since it will communicate all systems (ENG, ABS, CIP -Special settings, Instrument Panel, Service system, Suspensions etc ) of one Motorbike, and then read ECU information, read fault codes, erase fault codes, read data flow, active test and special function etc.
Here we go!
- Open the S1000R seat coverwhere the OBD2 port is located, use the M001 main cable to connect the OBD2 port.
Start the Motor and the tablet will boot automatically.
- Select”DP” – > Moto Diag -> Europe -> BMW -> BMW V30.02 -> “Auto Identify (VIN)” and in 2 seconds the VIN code is read out.
- Next is the electronic control systems: ENG, ABS, CIP -Special settings, Instrument Panel, Service system, Suspensions etc.
Next we will go through them one by one.
- Enter “ENG”:Motorcycle (Road) 2016 – ENG -> Bosch BMS MP1 (2016-) Euro 4 -> ECU information, read fault codes, erase fault codes, Read data flow(Value live data & State live data), Active Test, Special Function
- Enter “ABS“: ECU information, read fault codes, erase fault codes, read data flow, active test and special function etc.
- Enter “CIP -Special settings”: ECU information, read fault codes, erase fault codes, read data flow, active test etc. (No Special Function)
- Enter “Instrument Panel”: ECU information, read fault codes, erase fault codes, read data flow.
- Enter “Service system (Service Lamp reset)”: ECU information, read data flow and special function.
- Enter “Suspensions”: ECU information, read fault codes, erase fault codes, read data flow and special function.
Video Guide:
Alright. I’d like to recommend OBDSTAR MS80 as a decent BMW Motorbike diagnostic tool. It runs fast and it comes with guide (in text / images / diagram). It claims to be update online for 1-year free.
