HexTag Programmer can read the ECU’s D-flash and P-flash in fraction of seconds which is faster compared to any tool in the market.

With the help of HexTag you can clone/tune a wide range of Ecus without opening the Ecu easily, you can get some important info like ISN from BMW Ecus as shown in the following parts.

Where to Get Star Diagnostic with the Engineer/Developer Mode?

$
0
0

Question:

Where I should purchase a star diagnostic that will allow me to do the C4 engineer/developer mode. My main reason to use this right now is to attach the SBC pump fix.

Advice 1:

If you only plan to change the SBC and really don’t want to mess with other options, look at tools EPB Tool EP31 or MaxiECU.

If you are looking for the C4 computer I recommend buying from OBD or any other Super MB seller that claims it’s authentic with a serial number. Super MB is the best clone from the original.

In all get the C4 over the C3 as the C3 is now discontinued and will only work properly with the 2015.12 update right before it was switched to windows 7 from XP.
Also I would spend extra and get the EVG7 tablet with the C4 over the Dell D630 more portable.

The only thing my C3 can do better than the C4 is older vehicles. However I don’t plan on buying a unimog in the future.

mb-sd-c4-star-diagnosis-01

Question: I have heard that the 2016 version of the software is a bit unstable?

Answer: The newer version is only unstable in the C3. As in windows 7 with the C3.
When did the C3 come out the 80s? Kinda the reason it is outdated.
If I were to do it again I would just buy the C4. As I said I really don’t plan on buying an older Mercedes before 1996. I do plan on buying another diesel Mercedes in the future so I will have to upgrade to the C4.
To answer your question yes if you can find a model with the 2015.12 or 2016.3 both run XP will work.

Yes to my knowledge the C4 is the newer system except it wont work with older models. Also just because the C3 software is up to date with the 2015 models. Does not mean all models up until 2015 will work such as W222, which was designed from the factory to only recognize the C4, or I have read online.
As mentioned earlier the C3 is really meant for all the older Mercedes and Buses which I don’t think there are any in the USA and if there are the are in a collection or junk yard.
In what I stated before, if I had the knowledge I had now I would get the C4 with the EVG7 tablet, and I would run it that way.

Advice 2:

The facts are that if you are going to use a DAS Xentry tool for your car you don’t need the SDconnect C4 mux.

A C3 mux will work on all of MB products through version 09_2015 operating on the XP operating system.
Now you have XDOS version 01_2016 to current on the market. That’s a WIN 7 OS that only works with the C4 mux.

Because you have never indicated that your car was quick tested to determine the SBC faults, I would not run out and spend 500 bucks on a tested before I spent the money to determine your faults(the condition of your SBC)—–then make a move!

Refute:

There is your answer buy the C4 and in the future you need a newer model programming, you can just buy the newer hard drive to update that is it.

Finally, I bought a star c4 Mux on www.uobdii.com.
MB FULL SET SD C4 + XENTRY 05/2017SSD + Dell D630 Mercedes Star DAS
http://www.uobdii.com/wholesale/mb-sd-c4-star-diagnosis-plus-dell-d630-laptop-software-installed.html
Dude doesn’t have anymore, but I love it.
Does everything that I need to do. Unlocked features of the car, coded for xenons…etc.

the C4 has a lot more flex when it comes to pc choices since it can work with Bluetooth. I was stuck with the D630 since I have to run a RS232 port, in all still works very fast with the SSD I put in it.

Definition: DAS, Xentry, SDS, DTS Monaco, Vediamo, HHT- WIN, variant coding

$

You are getting all these systems confused? Read the following parts on the definition of DAS, Xentry, SDS, DTS Monaco, Vediamo, HHT- WIN, variant coding, Xentry coding etc.

Xentry software is used for all newer cars (204 166 212 213 222 and so on).

Das is the system for older cars(203 211 164 221 171 208 and so on).

SDS stands for STAR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM which is the original tablet and multiplexer used at the dealer.

HHTWIN:

Post 1996 OB2 models are fairly easy to read, however the early diagnostic system .

HHTWIN encompassed within the very latest Star system is more difficult to get grips with, so this is a trial sticky topic to address any issues encountered using the hhtwin system.
In essence HHTWIN is a hi-tech version of our LED blink code readers.

All MB from late 80’s to 99 = HTT-win
All MB from 2001 to 2009 = DAS
All MB from 2010+ = Xentry

The year 2000 is a weird transition period — some MB made in 1999 but the model year is 2000 will be diagnosed from the 38-pin under the hood and thus use HTT-win. Other MB made in early 2000 and sold as a 2000 model will have the OBD port and the SDS will require the OBD cable to diagnosis….and will use DAS.

And then there are orphan cars, like some SLK models — some 2000-2001 SLK require the 38-pin.

I’ve even seen a 2000 E320 that had both 38-pin and OBD port — I could use either port to conduct a full diagnosis. That was funny.

HHT-WIN-01 HHT-WIN-02

Developer mode definition: There is a lot you can change with developer mode in DAS vehicles.

I recommend getting the Star software with ‘Developer Mode’ which allows removing speed limiters and other in depth features not available in the ‘standard’ Star software.

If you have developer mode enabled, there will be a “Development data” option in the menu for the component working with:

benz-Developer-mode-03

Look at MB SD C4 PLUS Star Diagnosis (with Developer mode):

2019071967517057

Why & when to use Xentry/DAS Developer Mode?

As a presumed DAS user you have probably learned already that there are number of functions that would logically belong to the software options, but they

are missing from the regular DAS installations. These include recoding (variant coding) the control units without SCNs (Software Calibration Numbers), de/activation of commercially sensitive options (in-motion video of tv/dvd), recoding the configuration of airbag units, seat belt reminders, changing the configuration of instrument clusters, restoring damaged EEPROM contents for Comand/APS and other ECUs and many more. There is also an additional benefit: sometimes control units record a DTCs (error codes) that are filtered out by the production software. Developer kit allows unfiltered view on the module’s error memory, therefore allowing to see all stored trouble codes, including the masked ones.

The reasons for disabling these functions in the DAS setups seen at the dealership are very simple: firstly, risk associated with using them is too high to open these tools to (very often) under trained and rushing technicians; secondly, there are several legal obligations that put restrictions on what the dealer can do and what he cannot – for instance, recoding tv-in-motion, airbags and emission-related systems fall into this category. Thirdly, electronically damaged components very often result in replacement, therefore repairing (recoding) would have adverse effect on spare parts revenue.

DTS Monaco definition:

DTS Monaco is universal Engineering Tester for Diagnostic and Control Functions of Vehicle

ECUs. The name Monaco is derived from Modular Analyzer for Vehicle Communication.

DTS Monaco comprehensively covers all tasks in the areas of engineering, testing and

preparation of manufacturing tests:

-diagnostics

-analysis

-OBD

-flash programming

-measuring

-parameter zing

-residual bus simulation

-OTX

DTS Monaco is based on standards such as ODX, OTX and UDS

Vediamo definition:

Vediamo Software is used by the plant engineers to develop diagnosis and engineering software, which is now used by Xentry and DAS, is based on the Mercedes Benz super engineering version developed and delivered to the general customer service dealers’ use.

The use of MB super engineering version has no limitation in diagnosis / modification / programming function are open which cannot be through the VEDOC (the original application code changes with flow) can be free to increase or decrease the SA code, modify the objective, for example: the increase of vehicles equipped with SA500 electric folding mirrors, commonly known as the Xentry and DAS development mode: open data project version in 2010 after the release, increase the number of functional limitations. So we will meet the vehicle version is too new to be into the control unit in use, or are unable to do any special modifications to the control unit.

For example: W204/2122012 instrument to modify the area family configuration, or open other resource advantage function. Diagnosis / Mercedes super engineering version of the code with code / modification / programming database using the Xentry database, so the Mercedes Benz super engineering version is determined with the Xentry version, as long as the database is new and can be used in new models.

DTS-monaco-vs-Vediamo-05

(Image 3: DTS-monaco vs. Vediamo)

variant coding definition:

Is toggling things on like options or region to enable functionality that already exists is what you are referring to.

you can’t apply this same functionality to an Engine Computer in whole as as shown in HP tuners there are many toggles for variant features. In regards to rev matching for downshifts, if the code does not exist within the computer it will not be possible without rewrite of code base and complete OS write to the computers OS that does support the feature. To enable this you will need someone with the ability, technical skill, and appropriate hardware and software to edit code bases and combine/hack/edit. This only works if the code binary has enough free bits between sections of code to apply. You cannot shift maps or code around as the computer looks to a bit/byte location for code/maps. Additionally, if the older computers hardware does not have the right size ROM chip or the hardware speed or specification to support this will not be possible.

this type of developer is rare as generally speaking the return in investment never is enough. an example of this, a guy in sweden for a specific audi 1.8t platform has remapped the secondary oxygen sensor to utilize a flex fuel sensor, and repurposed a map that exists, to now be used as a flex fuel map. you cannot add what does not exist.

The difference between Xentry coding and Vediamo:

Xentry vediamo and Monaco work using the same concepts and definitions. Xentry is a novice and user friendly tool with very little adjustability especially as you get to newer cars. You typically need “online” access to do any real updates and you can’t at which point change coding outside of the car’s original state.

Vediamo and Monaco are not user friendly at all, require a deep understanding of vehicle infrastructure but are very powerful offline and can flash and code any module as you please. Example is me flashing firmware and map data of a 507 into your non 507 2012+ c63.

How to order my STAR system?

Now you need to answer a couple questions why you want a MUX/Diagnostics —

Do you just want to read and reset fault codes in your car?

Do you want to change configurations?

Do you want to purchase something now that you can use for any newer cars you may get?

If you only want to read and reset fault codes you do not need ANY MUX (C3/C4) at all!! You can just use a passthru cable for around $20 or get fancy and get a wireless passthru “cable”. There are limitations with what a passthru cable can do but not sure what. I only used it to read initial codes on a 2017 GLA 250 while I was waiting for my C4 to arrive. I used a Toyota mini Xhorse clone from uobdii.com.

If you want more support capability than a passthru you only need a C3 MUX for your car and use XENTRY/DAS 03/2020 version (this is the last most thorough version compatible with C3 MUX)If you want to purchase a “future proof” mux that can read old and new cars then purchase a C4 MUX and use the latest XENTRY 2020 version.

There are different chipsets (better or cheaper clone copies) on the circuit boards in the C4 MUX so you have to be careful which you buy — many places may have just as good of quality mux but this is where I purchased mine with the better chips (verified once I received it), good packaging, fast shipping and communicated well prior to buying it

http://www.uobdii.com/wholesale/mb-sd-c4-plus-support-doip.html

C5 MUXs that are being sold are mostly FAKE — they are only C4 MUX with upgraded housings. You can mod a C4 for DoIP if needed. A true C5 is very expensive and has its own HDD.

You can get the software from forum mhh for free but have to pay $25 to register — I have had to use information. There are members that you can pay to do your software installs also and have coded programs/patches to make things easier like DieTRih and others

I myself went overboard and spent a bit on a Samsung 9 Pro laptop upgraded to a 1TB NvME SSD drive with Windows 10 that converts into a tablet that I use dedicated to my car diagnostic programs (325GB+ just in

XENTRY/Vediamo/EPC/WIS/Starfinder/SDMedia) I use this wirelessly with a C4 MUX.

If you are not computer literate then by all means purchase a complete set with MUX and laptop with software preloaded. Anyhow hope this helps get you in the right direction but most users can get by with everything needed for only a few dollars using just a passthru cable.

It’s hard to recommend a specific seller or setup, as there are numerous options.

I would add the suggestion that you buy from a seller who has sold several units and specializes in OBD type tools (or maybe has “ODB” in the seller name), as these types of sellers will be more likely to help you get set up and support you. I had some issues and the seller (in China) was happy to log in to my laptop using team viewer and resolve the issues. It was a little difficult contacting them and getting a time when they could log in to the laptop due to the time difference and language issue, but they were awesome in getting it set up.

It is a pretty steep learning curve and is not something you simply plug in and pull codes like a simple generic OBD code reader (it takes several minutes to boot up and launch the software), and I still consider myself a complete idiot when using it, but it is an invaluable tool. If mine crashed today, I would not hesitate to replace whatever is needed.

I took one friend’s advice and bought a Dell 630 from uobdii.com, CI learned a lot from the set up process and was glad I did it that way (not just because it was cheaper, but it helped me learn about the software and system), and I learn something new every time I start SDS up.

I originally intended SDS for use with my R230, however I was recently looking for a car for my two sons who will be driving soon. I wanted something safe, reliable, and something they could work on. I thought an older high mileage W211 E320 would be good. I found one from a private seller, and before buying, I asked if I could plug up my OBD tool and spend some time; they said sure, expecting me to pull out a simple code reader. I spent about an hour looking at all the codes and info (it had a ton of stored faults, and a couple of current faults)… When the seller saw all of the fault codes and info, he offered (without me asking) to drop our already agreed upon price by another $600, which more than paid for the SDS setup…

As has already been said:
1. decide if you want C4 or C5.
2. decide if you want a complete system (more expensive), or source a laptop separately from uobdii.com or elsewhere (I recommend Dell 630) and source MUX and HDD.

3.pick a seller that has sold several units and/or appears to be in the OBD business that can provide support if needed
4. Be patient with yourself in getting it set up and learning to use it.

Hope this helps.

To be upgrading…

Lots of Porsche Macan Hidden Functions are Activated with PIWIS

$
0
0

Lots of small optional PCM features can be activated with PIWIS III. Obviously, these features must be installed by the factory – you can use PIWIS to see what installed but not activated.

Lower-Macan-Air-Suspension-thru-PIWIS
Here is a short list of such options:
– navigation
– logbook
– voice control
– sports chrono
– satellite radio
– USB
– Bluetooth
– Europe/NAmerica/SAmerica/Asia/MiddleEast/Russia/China/etc map
– PCC
– Telephone

Activation is performed by entering 16 digit hex code into PIWIS, which is then sent to PCM ECU in a single UDS CAN message. This code is derived from VIN and feature you are trying to enable. Given that you can buy these codes easily from various online sites, it’s obvious that algorithm has been successfully reverse engineered

You don’t need online connection for activation, but this is a common way for dealers to *get* the code.

Example 1: Lower /reprogram Porsche Macan Air Suspension thru PIWIS 3

Basically the dealer or repair shop just needs to go into the air suspension control module with the PIWIS and add 20 millimeters to your current suspension settings input by the factory, you have to add to the number on the Macan to make the car go lower. They may try to subtract because this it how it works on the Cayenne and Panamera, but the Macan is different.

Here is an example of what they would do, these numbers are arbitrary, so do not use them in your own car.

Left Front original coding 414, they would add 20 to make it 434
Right Front original coding 416, they would add 20 to make it 436
Left Rear original coding 418, they would add 20 to make it 438
Right Rear original coding 414, they would add 20 to make it 434.

This is basically the logic behind it and these numbers do not mean anything, so do not input them into the car, I have no idea what your factory settings are as each car may be slightly different, they are set at the factory based upon many different parameters.

Also do this at your own risk, as I have no clue on how this will affect your warranty or the service life of the air suspension.

In my opinion, the car actually would look better if you lower the front by 10mm more than the rear, because of the shape of the wheel arches, sometimes the Macan looks as if it is squatting in the back.

Also 20mm is less than an inch and to be honest, it will not even look like you have lowered the car.

Good to know:

1.PIWIS III / PIWIS II will allow you to drop your Macan and turn on and off various factory features. It won’t do a tune or change the algorithm that controls the valves if you still want them to respond to the buttons. To do that you have to hack the various controllers in the car, or the ECU. While this is standard practise in a lot of the hacker community on common GM, Ford and other ECUs, it is notoriously difficult to do for the Siemens SDI system in late model Porsches.

2.PIWIS II is replaced by PIWIS III, Porsche PIWIS III is more expensive than PIWIS II, but it can cover newer Porsche cars [Paramera (971) 2018, Caynenne (92A) 2018, Macan (95B) 2018, Macan (95B) 2018, 911 (991) 2018] and have more user-friendly features.

How to reset 2005 Nissan Pathfinder EML engine dash light ON?

$
0
0

Car model and year: 2005 Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 T-Spec

Symptom:

I’ve always had one kicking about to do the EML engine dash light to find basic errors. But was asked to help clear a DPF flashing light on a family members Mazda5…..

Took it up the road, ragged in 3rd gear 4000rpm at 60mph for 5 miles so well warm and ready to go, plugged in the scanner and went through the options to force a DPF clean.. and get this all the time.

1-2

When your Nissan check engine light stays on, it means the onboard diagnostic system of your vehicle has detected a malfunction with the way the engine is running, a problem with the emission system and in some cases, it can indicate a transmission problem. To find out the fault code a short description of the problem you can read the codes using an Nissan OBD2 code scanner.

Tools to use and reviews:

1.I use a Foxwell NT301. Thought I’d only use it once or twice, but I was wrong. Having your own scanner is so convenient.

Foxwell-NT301-Nissan-Pathfinder-02

2.I use an Autel MX808 MaxiCheck which I picked up under $500 about 15 months ago. It works with any passenger car or truck with an OBD II port, but for another $99, you can get the OBD I kit which has the connectors for a number of manufacturers OBD I diagnostic ports. MK808 is the scan tool with the OBD I kit. It’s pretty nice! It’s a lot quicker than my former boss’s X431 Launch diagnostic tool and his older OTC Genesys tool. It does an all system code scan, can monitor/graph/read live datastream info, read freeze frame data, can be used to relearn throttle bodies and register TPMS sensor, relearn idle air volume, relearn steering position and a bunch of other stuff. It can update wirelessly and the updates after the first years are reasonably priced. Autel has a number of tools, both less and more expensive. This one was perfect for me and for what I do at home.

Autel-MaxiCheck

3.I used a Nissan Consult III scan tool to read and clear the engine system codes.

1). Locate the diagnostic port under the dashboard and plug in your Nissan Consult III.

2-2

2). Turn on ignition but do not start the engine.

3-1

3) Allow your Consult III scanner to turn on. Press Enter to read codes.

Honda Civic OBD2 code readers for a DYIer

Reviews on the Honda Civic OBD2 code readers for a DYIer, scangauge, Hondas HDS scanner, Mastertech scanner, NGS scanner, torque app etc.

HDS-HIM

Review 1. I bought a cheap one, well, cheap back then ($60 in 2007) and it’s been plenty useful. With the aid of mobile Google machines, you can easily and quickly begin to troubleshoot CELs. The only I bought only shows you the code and allows you to delete them. Fancier ones actually give readouts and stuff. There’s also cheap ones you can plug into the OBD2 port and get readings on your phone via Bluetooth, so there’s that.

Review 2: scangauge

I prefer scangauge or similar so I can check many more things iat the dash instead of a hidden phone in my pocket. better temp gauge, MPG, etc.

I have a code reader that reads SRS and Honda specific codes as well.

@ezone review:

A code reader is a tool just like anything else in a tool box. Its effectiveness is up to you.
Some codes are easy, read code and throw a part at it….other codes aren’t so simple and some people can waste a lot of money by not doing their homework first.
Sometimes people post with codes that can’t exist in their car, that means some code readers aren’t 100% accurate at reading the codes.

80% of my entire career has revolved around your pesky warning lights LOL
I have:
Hondas HDS scanner software (on two of my personal laptops, HDS stands for ‘Honda Diagnostic System’, it is the dealer level scantool.)
Mastertech scanner (mine, pretty much obsolete now)
NGS scanner (mine, obsolete now)
Still considering getting a $20 engine code reader/eraser just for speed.

My car has an Ultragauge on the dash, displays quite a bit of live data and can read/erase codes if needed.

Review 3: torque app + cheap code reader

I have one of the Bluetooth dongles and the torque app. And a cheap code reader I bought like 10 years ago, Both have been extremely useful. I tend to use the Bluetooth one since it gives me more information.

@Colin42 review:

I have an older version of that $70 reader, I got it for $20 on clearance. You can check and clear codes, look up the vin (on newer cars), and check the readiness monitors.

The $180 one will also do freeze frame and live operating data which is handy for diagnostic purposes. And it will apparently do abs codes but iy might not work on all cars.

Or you can save $150 and get a $20 dongle and $5 app. You just won’t be able to do abs codes, which with the multiple different vehicles I’ve owned (2 Fords and 5 Hondas) I have never needed abs scanning. You can always get partsource (or another parts store) to scan it for you if you do have the abs light come on.

You do what you want I’m just trying to save you money.

Code BMW F10 F31 F25 with E-Sys or ICOM Ista-D? How?

$

Car model: BMW F10 / F31 / F25

Purpose: coding the cars

Code BMW F10 F31 F25

BMW coding tools to have:

ESYS + ENET

ICOM Next

Target user:

Newbie

Question:

BMW shuts down the ignition after a while so how can we prevent the car to shut down the ignition if you are programming ?

@tokarszczak experience:

I always program all ecus only with ENET cable– car never died and all work always done. Even with Icom you can brick car it you don’t know what are you doing. Why you write that it will be slow? Its same channels of communication like in ICOM.
Ignition won’t turn off when programming.

I don’t know speed of this two- for me programming nbt evo with 35 minutes is fine with enet. Try to flash some difficult nbt or kombi with icom- always problem and enet helps me a lot with it. Have 2 original Icom- both faulty and repaired in BMW. There was few threads about killing a car with Icom and programming in Ista- so it is possible. Enet is not bad for work with F and G series but if you want only click start button in Ista and wait for finish- Icom is for you. With Enet you can do same job.

@Matthew53 review:

When executing TAL, esys will take care of ignition, so it won’t turn off.

ISTA will also take care of ignition. It will also write to you first what to do. For F10 that is – do no open/close driver’s door during operation.

@2013m5 review:

I owned few BMW E, F and G series. I never use ISTA-D with eNet cable to program F or G series.
Always used icom or ICOM Next for BMW to program with ISTA-D over my home network, and never have any problem.
I bought the iCom Next A 81 31 2 360 883.
Buy the iCom Next for your F series cars.
Here the steps I prepared before I connect the iCom on my F or G series.
1. Latch the driver seat belt.
2. Latch the drive door latch for coupe and sedan.
3. Turn ON ignition.
4. Connect the iCom.
5. Run ISTA-D

@Enabled review:

Enet is completely fine, even factory uses enet…..

@ snypertje review:

Programming with ista+ is easy.

@ lmao1 review:

My recommendation, don’t use ISTA+ and ENET for programming…. anyway if you want o risk it, use ESYS + ENET.

2 times I updated with ista+enet went wrong, I had luck to recover the whole car with esys + icom, good luck.

ps: about ista+ and ignition, Voltage is not checked in ISTA with ENET.

@ Matthew53 review

Most of the time, when you updating the whole car, it does do everything and you don’t have to put your fingers in esys, but there are also situations where ISTA fail with programming one of the modules (sometimes more) and refuse to reprogram until you replace it. It’s good, if it’s stuck in programming mode, but still response. Then you need to try to reprogram with esys.
If you want to start with programming, then in my opinion, you should definitely be familiar with esys and its functionality.

@ Breach review

Just use e-Sys and ENET – that’s what I’ve always used for my F10. As long as you have power, have no retrofits/donor parts and watch out for mismatching HWEL/HWEPs it’s pretty safe and straightforward. Sometimes you may have to run ABLs from ISTA, but not for KAFAS. Anyway, there are almost no updates now for the F10 and you’re already at a pretty recent ilevel.

If you really want to use ISTA then buy an ICOM. I’m in the same situation – personal use, so can’t justify the cost.

How does FVDI 2018 program Opel Astra G 2001 key successfully?

$
0
0

Opel Astra G 2001 key was successfully programmed by SVDI 2018, here we go for details.

Car model and year: Opel Astra G 2001

Symptom:  lost transponder, need to get it programmed, need to read and get security code for key programming to be success.

Opel key programmer to use:

SVDI 2018 programmer

SVCI-2018-Opel-Astra-G

Suggestion 1:

Try to read Code from Engine Control Module
Otherwise you will need dump from immo ring for correct code.

The big ic is contain mmo/keys data
UPA read with no problems Just need to unsolder Mcu and put in adapter TMS370

Suggestion 2:

1) By changing the Vin Number your Pin Code will not change the pin code will remain the same UN-less you reset the ECU and enter any other pin code that’s when the pin code will change……

2) Your best bit is to use Carprog Tool to read pin code from engine ECU and use your FDVI to program the keys..

3) Once you have confirmed your pin code is right than go in to Immobilizer System delete all keys and program your new Transponder.

4) If you are 100% sure your pin code is right than check in live data and see what is the security time out showing it might have locked it due to entering wrong pin codes in that case live the ignition ON for the time showing and (without switching ignition OFF) go back and enter your pin code to program the key.

Suggestion 3:

all security codes and vin must be same in all units

Check security wait time is inactive in immobilizer.and yes it you reset it will accept any new pin but needs to match all other units.if you still can’t program key it means immo and ecu need resync to do this reset ecu and immo the go on program immo there should be a option to program click on new ecm and immo installed from the drop-down box.

Then key should program correctly if you have opcom use 1.59 firmware.

Finally, solved! Here is the test result:

I am happily breaking it to you guys that Opel Astra G has been successfully programmed.

I had this case as my manual all along the way. I used each and every view without hesitation because I trust you guys with your knowledge about cars.

1. I changed transponder chip. Precoded one
2. I went to immobilizer functions, entered security code and all the buttons that were not active became active.
3. I then reset ECU and Immobilizer from this immo section using the login code gotten from the car’s Immo ring MCU dump
4. went to Key Learning, entered the code and deleted all keys
5. clicked program key and remote…and it was done in less than 15 seconds
6. The car started just fine.

Enjoy!

Registration of New Smart Keys:

There are many diagnostic software in the world that can learn new keys. This procedure is outside of our software and is a subject of customer’s choice.

To enter the Registration procedure at least one valid SmartKey is necessary. After the learning software asks you for the valid SmartKey, show him the written emulator instead of the original car’s key. The emulator created in the previous step serves to authenticate Registration procedure.

best-bmw-scan-tool-12

BlueDriver is a convenient way for drivers to stay on top of their vehicle’s health. Once it’s plugged into your OBD2 port, you can leave it there full-time without draining the battery. You’ll know the instant a code triggers, and it continuously monitors emissions, alerting you to developing issues.

When a code does come up, BlueDriver’s Repair Report function shows both the code definition and suggested fixes for your specific vehicle. Saving data and code reports to your phone is simple, and you can send them via e-mail when you want to share the reports with mechanics.

BMW is one of the manufacturers supported for BlueDriver’s enhanced codes. This allows scanning of all electronic systems, including ones often neglected by hand-held scanners, such as climate control.

The BlueDriver adapter and app pair together into one BMW diagnostic tool that runs through your smartphone or tablet.

Conclusion:

Price:

Choose the BMW scan tool you think is right. You can pick an expensive tool that allows programming, or you can use a simple and affordable one.

How much you should spend on this tool comes down to your budget and how frequently you’ll be using it. If you have more frequent use, then you can invest in it. Otherwise, a cheap one that has all the features you need will work too.

Compatibility:

Not all BMW scan tools work for all models of BMW cars. Therefore, read the compatibility of the tool first before you purchase it.

Basic diagnostic functions:

It should read and clear trouble codes and perform special functions as well. These include I/M readiness, O2 sensors test, text live data, and graph live data.

Advanced Functions – Multi-system scan:

It should be able to diagnose trouble codes from various systems like transmission, Airbag, ABS, and engine. Additional features to look out for include oil service reset, coding and reprogramming, DPF, SAS, and EPB.

Reflashed with VAS5054 clone using ODIS-E 11.0.0 all OK

Question:

I tried flashing (update) yesterday a A6 4F 3.0TDI Quattro 2005 tiptronic gearbox TCU with ODIS Engineering 11.0.0 using VAS 6154 and resulted the error “Flashen der Datenblöcke fehlgeschlagen.”

Now, PRNDS disappeared from the cluster’s display and gearbox lever is stuck in P.

I was using VAS 6154 with Windows 10 Pro X64.
ODIS Service 5.1.6 and ODIS Engineering 11.0.0 works just fine (DTC, coding, etc.), the only problem seems flashing.

Tried flashing with USB connection as well as WiFi connection, no success.
I even lowered the Baud Rate down to 100 kbit, as well with no success.

The conclusion is:

The VAS6154 or VXDIAG can only Read DTC,CODING.

Flashing with ODIS-E dont´t work with this TOOL.

You can Repair or Reflash this with good VAS5054 org or Clone Tool on Win7 or with older Versions 100% work, have Reflash the Dashboard on A6 4F 3.0 2006 today.

You can try new Installtion with Windows7 on Virtul Maschine and Choose the VAS5054A in Launcher when you install this.

Best Solution at Moment VAS5054a with good OKI or Used org VAS6154.

For VXDIAG:

you can try this,  install and download virtual machine. In cartechnology.co.uk forum I have seen WIN7 Image with ODIS+Enginerring.

If you have install this, download the VX Manager this is the driver for the clone cables.  The Cable what we have is in the end a clone from VAS5054a.

Question:

So what are you telling me to do is use the VAS6154 as an VAS5054 on Windows 7 with ODIS-E to see if it works flashing ?
Do you think the Windows 10 is the problem ?

Reply:

Windows is not the Problem, the Cable VAS6154 is same function as the normal VAS5054a. There are too little Information about this for end user who buy this.
Try this on Win7 and choose as Interface the 5054a.

Finally!

I cannot use VAS6154 as VAS5054.

I ended up buying a VAS5054 clone. Better VAS5054 on Win7.

I reflashed with VAS5054 clone using ODIS-E 11.0.0 on Win7 X64 and all is ok now.

How to reset 2005 Nissan Pathfinder EML engine dash light ON?

@ezone review:

@Colin42 review:

@tokarszczak experience:

@Matthew53 review:

When executing TAL, esys will take care of ignition, so it won’t turn off.

ISTA will also take care of ignition. It will also write to you first what to do. For F10 that is – do no open/close driver’s door during operation.

@2013m5 review:

5. Run ISTA-D

@Enabled review:

Enjoy!
