How to install Orange 5 plus 1.35 driver on Win7:

– Language: English, Russian, Chinese

– Operation OS: XP Win7 /8

– Installation: driver needs to be installed, the software doesn’t need to be installed.

Procedure:

I want to hate this thing(Diagun V), I dislike this form factor. However this has been a useful tool. I have worked on a 2000 VW Beetle, 2001 Audi A6, 2005 Chevy Avalanche, 2012 Chevy Malibu and a 2013 Buick Regal. Doing some hard work like programming a key fob, diagnosing ABS brakes, and figuring out door locks. This unit has worked out with no problems.

What are needed to be improved:

It won’t program the immobilizer on the VW or Audi but this is due to the lack of information on the vehicles, so the jury is still out on that.

It would be nice to have some information about the reports you can make and possibly send to customers. I am guessing most of the information is online with launch, I just feel that the unit could have been sent with something.

I work on that 6.12 for two weeks. It doesn’t work on VM, but I installed in on 64bit Win 10, works properly, but this chinese adobe is not working. Still, Xprog is working like a charm, the only drawback is that I had to copy the connection diagrams and rename the files to have easy access, as without adobe there is no diagrams within the software.
So if opening pdfs manually is not a problem to You, than it’s a good tool.

A must have. You can’t avoid to get it if you want to do the car work seriously. Good for EEPROMs, MCUs, has a good Immo-content. This immo-part can be very helpful: in many cases you have only to solder some vires to the PCB, and you can read/write the needed content. Contains tons of pictures of immo-boxes, ECUs, and other PCBs; chip pinouts, and lots of useful information. The basic kit costs only €350, I suggest to pay a bit more, and buy all the needed connectors with the basic kit: SOIC8 DIP8, SOIC8 14 soldering, SSOP8, Lead with clips POMONA SOIC8 & DIP8, PQFP52 PQFP80, TMS374, 912 908 and 705E6 in-circuit leads, HC11ES and 05B6 WDT VW chip connectors (be getle with ’em, otherwise you have to buy a new one after 5-10 uses), ST62xx, 908AS60/AZ60 QFP64, all Motorola connectors. 1. One of the best eprommer what you can get (for moderate price). Mostly used for Beemer and Benz in our shop. Not too expensive, but easy 2 use. I bought it when we had difficulties with a Beemer and the problem was solved in no time. Has good pictures for in-circuit-use, and needs less connectors as the O5 for the daily use. A bit uncommon look, but you can find everything if you look with open eyes Free updates and compatibility with all other X-Horse product. With free shipping costs $400, thanks to its origin no clones are available.
Update: It f**kked away a ’08 W169 A class’s flash. Toke a lot of time to repair it. My dealer said that it can happen often @ Benzs. Maybe the only way to avoid data loss is to push the “Read ID” button first. If the identification is ok, then you have your chance (tested on a ’11 W245 B class). Other mistake was made by a CAS4 reading of this eprommer. Can’t tell ya more about this just readed about it.

2.I have a cloned Xprog and did work on FRM and cluster EEPROM. I can confirm that it has many troubles with reading EEproms correctly. Always need several reads until you get finally matching files. I flashed the firmware between v5.55 v5.51 and a 6.x version. The CAS eeprom reads were much more stable than the FRM reads for some reason. The good news is that the writes are almost always good.
But yes, you are in for a lot of pain with a cloned Xprog. Do the invest now for a better option to save you time and headaches in the future. Good tools are worth their money.

Another eprommer, but another must have.
This one is a bit uncommon between the other ones what I have, because it is made for in-circuit readings, only the small spiders (8 legged ones) are those what you have to remove for programming. Someone told me, that the VVDI Prog can do the same, but believe me it can’t. Just check the lists, you can find the differences.
It has a good ECU clone/tune module, can program beemer keys, it has a key renewal function (and much more), and is cheap enough to have it on your desk: just 450 USD when you get it from the official webpage.

UPA 1.3 reviews:
A must have tool. If you look around in the forums, you will always meet with it, because it knows a lot, and is damn cheap. I think it is a must have, because there are many chips listed in its database, what you can not read with Orange5 or VVDI Prog.

It has a better monitoring function as the usual ones (voltage, signal strength & everything else). I think it is easy to fall in love with it, if you can accept the missing extras: It won’t tell you which adapter to use like the O5 & VVDI does, but has such extras, what the others not: Oscilloscope function, live monitoring and so on. Too cheap to not to have it if you have to deal with old BMWs. Excellent EWS tool, makes everyone happy: the customer can get a cheap remote key, and you can make fast profit. Has plug-on-chip connectors, what are doing its work perfectly if you remove the protecting resin from the chip pins. Does all EWS protocols, but be cautious it can delete the 2D47J content.
You can get AK90+ from $22 with free shipping.

Update: Since a half year or so it gives the next generation of the tool called ‘AK91(+)’ around $400. Just don’t spend your money on this, a lots of devices know the EWS 4.4 programming for a better price
Another extension is the X-Prog, R270 and AK90 adapter for EWS 4.3 & 4.4. Needs no soldering, no on-chip-reading, you have only to fasten the PCB in it, and you can read and write the datas. The price is approx $35 with free shipping – I think it is worth to get it for hobbits and pros too

Key cloning is one of the most important part of our job. My policy is “better cloned as programmed”, because a cloned chip works for sure; while you can have lots of unexpected errors when you try to add a new key.

Car model: 2010 Vauxhall Opel Corsa D 1.3 CDTI

Purpose:

When I fill up the car and I tried to look to see how many miles I could do and guess what I couldn’t find it, then I google to figure out where it was, there’s nothing there for it on the middle screen and I find out that should actually be somewhere, so you should have an extra menu right here at the top, you should have another one. So I have the BC button, but when I press the button, it only comes with this, it’s just a timer that’s all I have. So here I have the phone that aged something and I have the radio. But you should have an extra menu for the trip computer.

Now I am going to code that into the GID I think the chronics for that is GID. That’s what we are gonna try to do. My quick research was that I’m gonna need take GM TECH2 for that.

So I’m gonna need take Tech2 for that. I’m going to go through the menus because I’ve never done it.

Okay, the laptop is running.

Open Tech2Win, select “Opel”.

Select MDI.

Select the interface you want to use.

GM Tech2 is launching.

Select “Board computer” and click on “Modify”.

Select “Present”, then “Confirm”.

Select “Mobile Phone Portal or present”, then “Program”.

– im608 is not bad for MB VW and some old BMW

– I would recommend it for a 1st tool for these reasons:
1). It’s my first key oriented tool and it’s been great for learning on.

2). it is fairly universal and if the software is lacking, often times you can’t still get the job with extra work because of the XP400 and GBOX2 then just not doing it at all if you’re dead set on JUST OBD.

3). the diag software is good, it comes with a built in hex editor that works well, storage and organization is neat.4). the J2534 programmer is an added source of revenue, often overlooked feature when talking immo but I use it in a pinch when factory files are needed.

5) If you run a workshop car repair of all kinds of work, doing service on vehicles everyday. From 08-17 O’clock.
Swapping diesel injectors – diagnostic – oil service reset – standard service 1 year.
Then you will earn enough to cover up the costs.

6) I only do locksmith job( residential and vehicles) nothing else. I’m not a mechanic. This tool cover a lot of “high end” cars Benz, BMW, VW, etc.
Its not like Xtool,Obdstar and other Chinese tools.

7) I have the Autel IM608. The Mercedes it can do, and with the G-Box it usually about 15-60 minutes to calculate the password. There are no tokens or anything. I can do almost all vehicles common in the US, and it is always updating. It hasn’t had any problem with BMW CAS systems, though ISTAP update you should still remove the module(it has the option to downgrade but I usually remove the module and program that way with 64 attempts to catch rolling code).

Volkswagen it works well with most. Had trouble with Kessy on a 2012 VW before, but since then no issue. Has some decent scan abilities as well which is nice.

8) The tool pays for itself if you use it. Tag $2 more on every job.

9) Autel IM608 is a solid base with lot’s of features and coverage. However, it, as ALL tools has gaps, flaws and you will ALWAYS need backup from other tools to be safe. It does not cost 1100usd a year, I just updated at cheaper price buying from uobdii.com. It is still al lot of cash to earn back, but if you ask decent prices for cars that others have to leave aside, then you can earn it back plus extra profit.

Little advise; take a sub on something like Lifeline, and external backup that can program lot of cars by internet. You pay through the nose but as a back up, you may finalise on jobs you will be stranded on without. It works by buying a box which you connect to internet using your phone or tables. You buy into a service like key programming and they will do it from a server. It is not saving you on all occasions (still work left for bench, lock picking, etc. as final solution) but it will save your ass at times.

Buying IM608 mainly or just for Mercedes is too much of a cost. But your statement of how things work with paying for a tool…. Autel does lot’s of updates and development, that will cost you, simply as that. And they invest loads to develop (or buy code) for a tool before making a simple penny. Also, you don’t just pay for development, you pay for a bunch of hardware and support. If you don’t need any of that, just leave the tool alone, but reasoning like it’s unfair to pay for what you get (a hell of a tool, though not perfect), that’s just not fair. Making money is not greed.. it’s wise, so you can keep on developing (and growing your business), if tools become really cheap, that’s when I start to worry about its future.

You still have the JVCI for J2534

You still have all offline functions, and vehicle coding functions, and service functions.

MOST functions of immo are not even online.

I have the Elite that has been off subscription for more than a year, my apprentice uses it without issue to do many things other tools cannot.

Autel im608 is actually an excellent tool for any auto locksmith , due to its coverage and its reliability , and is far cheaper than other tools of equal coverage , the annual fee will work out cheaper than using tools like AD smart pro and zedfull , the tool is cheaper than these and the tokens on these will work out far dearer .

Autel do continue development and worthwhile development costs money , their annual fee pays for the ongoing development that gives their tool a longer life span , making it an investment and not just a for now tool.

it is very easy for the tech outfits that don’t develop but instead copy the work of others , but these are always behind the game and at best are for now tools, just as there are career auto locksmiths that commit to what they do as a long term career, learn all they can to achieve their goals , there are also pop up locksmiths with no interest in a career but instead want to make a bit of money on what they can whilst they can , the tool and business needs of both will differ greatly just as their work rates differ.

with regards autel , if as a small business with low turnover due to low work rates you find the cost and the annual fee too rich for you , and if your only interest is in keys and remotes and not the diag side, then look at IM508 , it has good key coverage and if you also buy the XP400 you have the same key coverage as IM608 with the exception of MQB and later Mercedes . im508 with xp400 that gives you much the same key coverage as im 608 is £1000 cheaper than im608 and the annual fee is half the price, which brings it on par price wise with lonsdor and obdstar but a better unit. so theres an autel option for low income set ups as well .

– If your only interest with it is only keys then both have the same key coverage if you get xp400 , gbox2 and the apb12 smart key emulator with im 508 you have the exact same key coverage as you get with im608 , the difference between the 2 is purely the diagnostic functions on 80 makes , and some eeprom applications , thats it , if you dont need full vehicle diagnostics and only want to do keys then 508 with the extras gives you same coverage as 608, bar mqb all keys lost which may be up in the air at mo.

but main difference is the full diag on 80 makes , i know a few lockies who love it for its nissan , psa and opel diag , but its the diag functions that cost the extra and the increased annual fee only , with the extras mentioned then 508 has exact same key coverage.

Vxdiag Benz C6 diagnostic tool Review:

I have been using a VXDIAG Benz C6 (the new one with the LAN port and mini-USB jack) for sometime (I have the Xentry and ODIS licence).

From my experience, I can tell you it’s a good device for Xentry.

I have been using it with Xentry 12.2019 and have tested it on a variety of cars (even on older DAS cars like W211). Every function I have tried on Xentry / DAS has worked so far.

– ignition status is detected automatically (like C4) and it reads the voltage no problem

It is advertised to work with DoIP modules, but I haven’t tested this myself (there are videos on YouTube where they demonstrate this)

It does work wirelessly as advertised through Wi-Fi.

It tried it on normal Xentry (not passthru). It should also work on Passthru as it has a passthru licence and can work was a passthru device

The way it works is – Allscanner develops a driver for Xentry which allows their device to work with Xentry (xentry sees the mux as a Xentry Diagnosis VCI)

A potential problem is that Allscanner has to develop a new driver for each new version of Xentry – so you may not be able to use the latest version of Xentry when it comes out – you’ll have to wait till they release the driver for that specific version of Xentry (as of writing this, Xentry 03.2020 is the latest driver available)

When you install their software on a Xentry system, it will auto detect the Xentry version installed and will load the correct driver for you (convenient)

It gets occasional firmware updates (through the allscanner software) – you dont have to connect to car to power it on, just plug it into USB it will power on and you can do the FW updates at your home.

I have not tried it with online SCN coding, so can’t comment if that works.

Overall, I like it a lot and have not used my old C4 since I received this. (keeping the C4 in case older cars come by which require HHTwin etc)

2. Use a phone to scan the QR code to download the NexzDAS APP.

Please uncompress/unzip the files first, copy the folder “autel_factory” or “autel_factory_dev” to an empty TF card. Insert the TF card to the left side slot of Maxisys, restart the tool to flash the system.

Q: How to get system log when strange system error occurs ?

A: Restart the scanner to re-produce the problem, once the problem occurred, pls go to the home screen, click on MaxiTools button, click on the Start button, wait for it to finish, then click on Upload to send the log to Autel server. You can try this procedure several times to ensure we receive the complete logs.

Note:

The programmer PC software is required to be connected to the XP400 for performing this function.

1. Please remove the CEM according to the Operation guide, follow the guide under the 03-IMMOBILIZER /VOLVO/ VOLVO-CEM-TYPE1/8KX8/E2 DATA menu to connect the transponder correctly, and then read and store the E2 DATA security data.
2. Please save the stored security data into the Scan /UserData/Volvo file on this device.

Tap “programming” in the Autel IM608.

Tap “Chip”.

Chip read & write.

Tap “IMMO”.

Tap “Volvo”.

CEM-TYPE 1.

Follow the operation guide.

1. Need 12V power supply.
2. The chip login password consists of 7 bytes, stored in the FLASH. If the login password is indicatively incorrect during reading or writing, please ensure the login password in the SEC and confirm and then execute “Read”.

E2 DATA.

Back to tap “Read”.

Reading chip…Don’t unplug the USB cable, please wait…

Tap “Save”.

Tap “Volvo”, then “Smart key”, then get ” No file”.

File save successfully.

Tap “ESC” to select ” E2 DATA”, then “Read” again, and save file successfully.

Tap “ESC” to install the CEM.

Then insert the key and press the “Start / Stop” button.

Tap “IMMO” on the Autel IM608, then “OK” -> “Volvo” -> “Manual selection” -> S60 -> 2010- 2018 -> Semi smart key -> Semi Smart Key System (CAN).

Add Semi-smart key.

Please press START button by following the on-screen instruction.

Note: CEM security data are required for performing this function. They can be obtained data loading or OBD reading.

Select Yes to use data loading and select NO to use OBD reading.

Please select Yes or NO.

I select YES.

Note: please load the central electronic module (CEM) security data of this vehicle.

Press OK to select the corresponding CEM security data.

Press Cancel to exit.

The security data can be re-selected by going back to the main function interface and re-entering the system.

I select “OK”.

Security data decoding completed.

Notice:

1. This function applies to the learning of the semi-smart key (to be inserted to start the vehicle). The smart key can be learned successfully, but the remote control will be invalid.
2. Please verify the type of key first.

Would you like to continue?

Please close all doors, insert the learned key into the key slot and turn the ignition on.

Please turn the ignition off. Remove the key from the key slot.

Number of learned keys: 2

Maximum permissible number of keys:6

Tap “Learning”.

Key learning successfully.

Test if the new key works.

Job is done.
